of the
MOËS DIESEL MUSEUM
This site is an online presentation of the MOËS DIESEL MUSEUM, which in collaboration with the MECHANISCH ERFGOED CENTRUM, has put together an exhibition that will be shown in the coming years under the name EXPO*MOËS*M.E.C. in the museum hall of the M.E.C. in Dronten.
The exhibition can be visited every wednesday and saturday.
In 2008 it was the acquisition of two antique, semi-diesel locomotives that made me search for information about MOËS in general and their products in particular. Despite being reasonably well known in the BENELUX countries for making engines and locomotives, there is very little information about the history of the company and its products and one has to search very hard to get this information. For years, the only source of information was the very interesting website www.rail.lu which, among other things, compiled a web page with photos of various types of MOËS locomotives. Gradually the idea arose to create a website about MOËS MOTEURS and its products.
Plans for a website about the MOËS locomotives in our collection and their builder already existed. After several years of research, we are now trying to centralize as much information, documents and photographs as possible, either from our own collection or found on the internet, in books and in collections of fellow collectors on this web presentation. With 12 MOËS locomotives in 9 different types and versions, 2 big industrial engines, 6 stationary MOËS engines, 1 80HP MOËS marine engine, 1 EEKELS/MOËS diesel engine-heimachine and 3 EEKELS motor pumps equipped with MOËS engines, the MOËS DIESEL MUSEUM has a unique and very extensive MOËS collection. The purpose of this website is to present the interesting MOËS collection of the MDM here, together with (technical) information, photos and backgrounds about MOËS and the engines and locomotives they have built. It is also the intention, at a later stage, to compile a list of as many as possible still existing MOËS engines and locomotives.
This website is still under development. I am now working hard on making the website multilingual. A website about MOËS should of course be available in French! I will do my best to achieve this in the near future!
Through this website I already receive a lot of questions and interesting information about MOËS and that's great and exactly what I was hoping for when I was creating this website! If you have
any interesting information about MOËS you want to share, or if you own a MOËS engine or locomotive, please let me know! Your help is greatly appreciated and will make this website even
more complete.
